As described on the course syllabus, your Action Portfolio documents selected responses to in-class activities, interactions with the course materials, and ideas for teaching middle grades language arts. This is the cumulative product of in-class work and selected weekly syllabus items (from the prep sheets), and it will be evaluated at the mid-term and conclusion of the semester.

In other words, your Action Portfolio houses the works you’ve done in class and your completed prep sheet assignments. Your Action Portfolio may take the following forms:

a) a large three-ring notebook with hard copies,

b) an individual wiki page linked on our MSL Senior Methods wiki, or

c) some combination of the two. Even if you choose the wiki option, you will need at least a folder to collect your hard-copy, in-class writing and handouts over the course of the semester.

Your Action Portfolio should be organized well and document clearly your efforts for the reader.

Below you should check for your name (change it if needed) and create your Action Portfolio wiki page if you're choosing to do option b or c above.

Keep in mind that you can upload word documents onto your wiki page using the File button on the Edit page menu.

Initial Assignment: Within the first two weeks of class, please post to your AP wiki page below and let us know what form your Action Portfolio will take. Thanks! Dr. Y
